Relevancy
Information and Communication regime has brought effective
and rapid changes in the sphere of overall development.
It has now been able to transform the universe into
a "Global Village". There is an ample opportunity
of maximum benefits out of prudent utilization of
physical and human resources by the application of
diverse nature of information technologies.
There is inevitable attachment of information and
communication linkages in every organizations operational
activities. Information plays a vital role in Coordination,
control and decision-making process. It acts as a
glue and helps in the wearing of organizational activities
i.e. planning, executing, monitoring and evaluation.
Its crucial role lies in the facilitation of exchanging
ideas, thoughts etc, internally and externally. Viewing
its importance as mentioned, the government in the
year 2057 B.S. decided to unite the then three ministries.
Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Commerce and Ministry
of Supplies, into one single Ministry as Ministry
of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, and creating a
separate section " Information Collection &
Dissemination" within the ministry's organogram.
As per organizational feature, six divisions as mentioned
below have been created under the secretary, the chief
administrative authority of the ministry.

Realizing the importance of Planning and Information
Management Division, the Division is loaded with the
additional responsibility, little bit different to
that of the then status, to cover the information
