1. Introduction

Department of Industries is one of the department under Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, which was incorporated to expedite and implement the policy, rules & regulations of the government of Nepal to enhance the economy of Nepal through industrialization.

After the amendment of Industrial Enterprise Act, 2049, the Department looks after the medium and large scale industry whose fixed assets exceeds NRs. 30 million. Apart from that, the department looks after the foreign investment.
